Fabric flowers

I had some Ikea fabric left over and felt monochromatic. I had skewers in the drawer in the kitchen and a hot glue gun.

I cut the fabric into 2 - 3 inch wide strips the length of the fabric.  I scalloped the edge, sewed 2 together, gathered and glued. I love my bouquet for me.

I like the monochromatic look of the dozen of them all the same.  I am going to try some different fabric later today and will update ...  I think I'd like leaves and I may free motion quilt then cut out some green.  I'll post the improved pictures.

I'll do better instructions too :)

Ikea Grey Tote Bag, with cinch, tassles and a tie

I will put up a tutorial but wanted to show off the new bag.  I was inspired by an Ikea Hack tote bag using a seat cushion, so I just added extra long and wide straps as a drawstring through the middle of the bag and voila, adorable!

It was easy easy!  23 inch blocks of inside and lining fabric, add some channels on the front and back, thread through ties and make some straps.  I added zippers to the lining and one for the inside pocket.  I squared the bottom 4 inches so it'll sit pretty when it's full of whatever it's filled with.

My mannequin, Phillip, is looking rather fetching :)
